Why are Fililpinas attitudes toward relationships so different than American women?

I went to the Philippines for my first time 18 months ago. I have visited the islands 5 times since. While I was there I dated a few filipinas and every time I went I fell in love all over again. The way I was treated was so much different. I can't understand why the difference in attitudes towards a realionship between men and women.Why are Fililpinas attitudes toward relationships so different than American women?
There seems to be set roles for women and men of that culture. Women know what is expected of them. Men know how to act and what is expected of them. There are so many blurred lines of what is socially acceptable here in the states. It's a cultural thing.

If you like it so much, consider moving there. Why are Fililpinas attitudes toward relationships so different than American women?
:) because we always treasure relationships

we are raise in such a way that LOVE and RESPECT matter a lot in a relationship.

whether we like a person or not, if he loves us. we should respect it. and we will teach ourselves loving the guy the same way he did. (mostly succeed)

even i as Filipina dont now exactly why,

maybe because of our culture.

very family oriented.

we treasure relationships.

that's it!

:D personally, i am disappointed because some women and men are influenced by western attitude.

:(

playing with Love. sex not make love.

i just hate it!
Some or most Filipinas value love and respect more than what the person posseses.I am not having a comparison between an American or a Filipina woman Im just tryin to elaborate my answer. Filipinas respect men and selfless.

So, you like playing the field when you are in the Philippines LOL!! Good luck!!
I'm a Filipino. Well, Filipinas are loving. They are mature and old enough to handle things. American Girls are like, ';Desperate';. Filipinas are patient enough, like, They say ';I will have a guy in the right time of my life'; Hope it helped :)
They want a green card. So they kissed your butt.

American women are content and spoiled. So they don't need you.

==edit==

If you fell in love with all of these women, then where are they now? If you liked it, why didn't you put a ring on i?

  • What are Jane Eyre differing relationships with Edward Rochester and St John Rivers ?

    I am writing an essay for english and it will really help me... Please give me some inspiration...

    Thank you so muchWhat are Jane Eyre differing relationships with Edward Rochester and St John Rivers ?
    It is quite simple. Rochester offers to Jane a love without marriage and St John a marriage without love. The two men are the exact opposites and Jane is torn between them and tries to find the balance. Even the adjectives used by Charlotte Bronte for the two male characters are opposite: Rochester is fire and St John is ice. Mr Rochester although a common sinner is more capable of loving Jane and letting her free to express herself and develop, while St John ';incarcerates'; her spirit, is incapable of love in general and can not accept Jane in her whole character despite his holy aspect and purposes. St John turns out to be a selfish creature that wants to exploit what he sees as good in Jane.

    Jane is affected by both men. She writes:

    ';I was almost as hard beset by him (St John) now as I had been once before, in a different way, by another (Rochester). I was a fool both times. To have yielded then would have been an error of principle; to have yielded now would have been an error of judgment.';

    She is affected by Rochester because she loves him so much, because he saw what she was and appreciated and encouraged her. She is affected by Rivers because she owes him her life, because he is one of her scant relatives, because she is too depressed to resist his efforts and finally because he possesses a character that doesn't explode with anger to help her channel her own against him. Even when she says to him:

    ';I scorn your idea of love, I scorn the counterfeit sentiment you offer: yes, St. John, and I scorn you when you offer it.';

    He replies with wounded dignity:

    ';I scarcely expected to hear that expression from you,'; he said: ';I think I have done and uttered nothing to deserve scorn.';

    And Jane apologises embarrashed where she should not be at all for saying the truth.What are Jane Eyre differing relationships with Edward Rochester and St John Rivers ?
    Reading over Jane's character analysis will probably help:

    also look at rochester and john rivers - if you still need inspiration, look at the other stuff on shmoop's site... like the Did You Know? section and the Best of the Web. i hope that helps!

    How can I develop good relationships with guys?

    I've never had any good relationships with guys. A lot of guys that I encounter make it obvious they just want sex (I'm in college and no I don't dress or act slutty). I talk to guys but I have never had a close friendship or relationship with one. I've never had a boyfriend but I've been on dates with good nice guys but for some reason I'm just not interested in them and I don't know why. How can I develop good relationships with guys?How can I develop good relationships with guys?
    Just be your honest self.

    Also, don't NEED a guy to make you feel like a woman. (You don't state this, but just to be sure.) Just enjoy their company as friends. In time, there is going to be one who sticks out as good mate material. Continue with friendship while letting him know that he is a man you would consider as good boyfriend criteria. Just mention in passing. If he's interested, he'll let you know. If not, you still have the friendship.

    I never had good boyfriends until I began to let go of the idea of having one %26amp; just settled for having good guy friends. Then things developed in a more relaxed way that made going to the next level so much more pleasant.How can I develop good relationships with guys?
    you know what you sound like a good girl ahha like me, guys are mostly jerks and obv thats just what they want, wait the time willl come just be yourself because if he doesn't like you at your worst he doesn't deserve you at you best.

    How do I take my relationships to the next step?

    I know a lot of girls and I will occasionaly talk to them, but how do I take my relationships with them to the next level? And how do I know which girl would be right for me? I'm not sure who would suit me best?How do I take my relationships to the next step?
    Easy... Its called picking one out.

    In short... Keep talking to all of those girl friends of yours... Chances are strong that you will quickly run into one that you will build feelings for. Once this happens, you will know that she is right for you.

    Good Luck and I Hope this Helps..How do I take my relationships to the next step?
    Its not really that simple bro. First off how do you know they like you like that, secondly if you ocassionally talk them would nt you want to be friends first to get to know them better.

    To avoid misunderstanding that will be caused by your different culture orientation.

    You are not interested in the ';good nice guys'; because to you they seem weak. Not nice guys are more predator-ish and therefore seem stronger. These types are the types that want sex and little else; they're predators after all. But a woman wants strength in a male more than anything else.

    This is the perenial problems for the ladies--the bad guys are attractive because they seem strong. But the problem is the relationships don't work well or at all, given some time. Their ';strength'; is of the destructive kind.

    The solution is to find a nice guy that is strong, as in strong personality. They exist, though they are infrequent.

    You might try eHarmony (or similar), that way the time spent searching is far less (that random encounters) and can be much more successful.

    What term describes the way in which a society is organized into predictable relationships?

    Social hierarchy?

    It's also called dominance hierarchies, but it is the way that people or animals realize and work within a structured society.

    A pecking order, basically, like among chickens.
