Would not having a normal relationship with a mother from birth to age 4 affect future relationships with ppl?

How would it affect a person if they were in foster care, and kept moving in with different families or homes? Let's just say in this case, the kid knew the mother and acknowledged her mother as being her mom, but she didn't really take care of her/act like a mother, which led to foster care.

Oh, and I know it varies with the individual, but this individual grew up to be very shy and private. Are human relationships, such as romantic ones, impossible for this person?Would not having a normal relationship with a mother from birth to age 4 affect future relationships with ppl?
If Sigmund Freud is to be believed, a child's basic personality

is formed by the age of 5. However, my husband had a very

similar early childhood and he's a wonderful, caring man.Would not having a normal relationship with a mother from birth to age 4 affect future relationships with ppl?
probably in the sense of trust.
